BOOK BLURB:
I crawled into Ryan Jensen’s bed that first night by accident.

I barely knew him. I thought it was his sister’s bed—her room. It took seconds to realize my error, and I should've left...

I didn’t.
I didn’t jump out.
I didn’t get embarrassed.
I relaxed.
And that night, in that moment, it was the only thing I craved.

I asked to stay. He let me, and I slept.

The truth? I never wanted to leave his bed. If I could've stayed forever, I would have.
He became my sanctuary.

Because—four hours earlier—my twin sister killed herself.

The Review:
Ahhh! The feels! They were sooo there! I really enjoyed this book. It was captivating, heartbreaking and uplifting all in one and it felt very different than her other books. It still had the amazing characters you’ve come to expect in one of Tijan’s books, it still had the angsty story and the incredibly journey to the end, but there was something more profound, more soulful, more ... just more! The way this books starts out and then the way it progresses ... and then the way it ends? Incredible, from beginning to end.

Story/Characters...
Mackenzie Malcolm has just had her heart ripped out in the most tragic way. In a new town and with half of herself gone, she finds solace in an unexpected place ... Ryan Jensen’s bed.

Ryan Jensen is no stranger to pain or heartache. Barely surviving his own past, he connects with Mac instantly, knowing she needs his support but also getting the support he needs as well.

Ryan and Mackenzie together were genuine, both having life changing events to help bond them. But aside from trauma binding them, their attraction was real, intense and swoon-worthy. They started off basically as friends, both needing the other in different ways but by the end, they connected on a deep, fundamental level.

Ryan is the kind of book boyfriend you can’t forget. He was compassionate, caring, loving and sweet. He stood by Mac and helped her in ways I don’t think anyone else could have. His understanding was pure, his strength unending and though he fell in love and wanted to be with Mac, that wasn’t why he stood by her. He knew the depths of her sorrow and honestly started out just wanting to help.

Mac’s grief and guilt were so hard to read. Her sorrow and loneliness poured off the pages. She was struggling and with her family having abandoned her, trapped in their own grief, she truly needed Ryan.

I loved them together, and though the romance was sweet and really enjoyable, it was Mac’s story and her journey that really stood out. When I reached the end, I had all these feelings about what I had read, it literally took me days to sort it all out.

Along with two fantastic mains, we also get a cast of fun and creative characters to alleviate some of the angsts along the way. Some of the side characters you love, some you just have to hate. And in true Tijan fashion, Mac conquers the mean girl squad with her own brand of sass and courage.

I think the author stepped outside of her normal box for this one and she did a fantastic job! She brought the feels as she normally does. She gave us characters we loved and connected with. She gave us a story was was exceptional. But this time, she also gave us something to think about. That ending was so unexpected and here I am, days later, still reeling from it.

Well done, Tijan! WELL DONE!
