Awesome, AMAZING banter between two fascinating characters who will steal your heart. Side characters who are too adorable for words. A past complication who you straight up want to throat punch. A shot at a second chance, learning to trust and believe again. A story that shines brighter than a quasar. And enough sexy times to make you swoon. What does all this equal? A read you’ll want to devour in one sitting, just like I did. And then, you’ll want to immediately flip it back to the first page so you can experience it all over again!

Story/Characters...
Layla Hutton has finally reclaimed her life after a long break from love and heartbreak. She’s getting her career back on track. She’s decided to start dating again, and with a man who is a truly great guy. The last thing she ever expected was to walk into a conference room and get a heart-stopping, panty wetting blast from the past from the one man she never expected to see again.
Gray Westbrook has come back to town to reclaim his life after three years in a white-collar prison for a crime he didn’t commit. While serving out his term, he meets Layla Hutton, a lawyer who is teaching a class in his prison while serving out her own community service sentence.
The moment Layla and Gray lay eyes on each other, it’s an instant attraction that grows into soul-searing love with weekly visits for more than a year. But when secrets and lies find their way in between the two, Layla builds a wall around her broken heart that will take a herculean effort to break through.
Told in dual POV’s, the author gives us some of the sweetest, sexiest get-to-know-you flashbacks I’ve ever read in a book, which is hard to do when your characters can only talk in an environment with strict no touching rules. But as always, this author took that challenge and excelled! My tummy was all aflutter with covetous looks, stolen touches, forbidden kisses and flirty banter. It all made for an intense, slow burn that continued on through their reconnection as Layla fights her feelings and Gray desperately tries to win the love of his life back.
But just like before, complications intervene leaving Layla and Gray both spinning and trying to figure out where and IF they fit into each other's lives.
The Wrap Up:
With witty, mesmerizing writing and a story that was romantic, sweet, angsty and full of heart and soul, you can’t help but fall hard for this novel. And if you didn’t believe in fate, true love, and happily-ever-afters before, Layla and Gray’s story will certainly change your mind.
Perfectly executed, this swoon-worthy, emotional, all-consuming read is going down in my top-five for 2018! And Gray Westbrook is going down as one of my all-time favorite bbf, ever! Pro, cons and all!
This is an author I’ll always read. Always!
