4 “No more Unfortunately” Stars!
The Review:
So, so good! After the first book left off with one heck of a cliffy, I have been patiently waiting to get my hands on the second book to this duet. I HAD to see if my suspicions were right and I HAD to know what would become of Gia and Rush, when the truth came out. I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed. These two authors always bring the angsts and the tummy flutters and they always tell a great story.
Picking up right where book one left off, we don’t have to wait long to learn the secrets and when the truth is revealed, Gia is understandably upset ... and so is Rush. I felt so bad for Rush. He had a huge decision to make. He had to figure out if he could have the life with Gia he so desperately wanted and if he could be the man and father he wanted to be. But what I loved most is that even though he took time to decide, even though he left Gia hanging for a while, wondering if he would be hers in the end, he ALWAYS made sure Gia was okay. He protected her, looked after her and loved her while he thought things through. Rush was such a sweetheart. He was giving and loyal and kind and how he shared blood with his bio father and brother, I’ll never know because those two were losers!
Gia faltered a little in this book. I understood her waiting around, because Rush was definitely worth waiting for, but she also thought she deserved less than she did. None of it was her fault. I kind of wanted her to stand up for herself and feel worthy of all she was really worth, but it all worked out for the best.
I enjoyed how the authors gave Rush time to figure things out. The situation was huge and there was more than lust or even love to think about. They both needed to think about the baby first ... and they did.
I honestly couldn’t see how this book would end where everyone would get what they wanted. The situation was so complex, but in true Vi and Penelope fashion, they gave us the happily ever after we craved and gave us a fantastic story and a bit of angsts along the way. Oh and they also gave us some yummy sexy times, which is always fun!
Great read and one I look forward to reading again in the near future!
