BOOK BLURB:
Never trust a man who answers the front door wearing nothing more than a pair of low-cut jeans and a panty-melting smirk.

That should’ve been my first sign.

I write about guys just like him for a living—sexy and charming, yet reluctant to get into a serious relationship. His body screams sex appeal, but his condescending personality makes him a classic fuckboy.

And I want nothing to do with that.

Writing romance novels comes with its perks—traveling, meeting new people, creating characters from the voices in my head—but Ethan Rochester enters my life and rearranges all my preconceived notions about writing what inspires you.

One week is all it took.
One week to realize that not everything is as it seems.
One week with the bad boy, and I wanted more.

The Review:
This was an entertaining, sexy romance that had a great story paired with some light angsts and a fun couple you couldn’t help but cheer for. Ethan and Vada were sweet and sexy together, and I enjoyed getting to know them as they both found love again.

Ethan Rochester has a heartbreaking past and though he slakes his needs with one night stands, he’s vowed to never be the tragic victim of love and emotional attachment again. When he rents out his guesthouse to Vada Collins, her spark and calamity ways intrigue him and make him laugh, which is something he hadn’t done in a long time.

Vada’s past might not be as heartbreaking, but it’s painful and pitiable nonetheless. She too has vowed to not be love's victim or to get emotionally attached ever again. Her trust was broken and she doesn’t want to risk the pain that comes along with broken promises. However, the moment she sees Ethan, something about him calls to her and all the faults she cataloged him with, turn out to be wrong and her heart becomes invested as the truth reveals itself.

But as with most interesting romances, this couple has to go through the rough times to get to the good times and watching them fall in love, find new meaning in an emotion they both thought lost to them, was a lot of fun to read.

I enjoyed this read. It had a good story, interesting characters and the writing style sucked me in and kept me going to the very end.

But...
I will say that I don’t mind insta-loves in my read, if they are done right. But insta-love or insta-attachment after one roll in the sheets feels wrong to me and that’s what happened here. After one night together, it felt like Ethan was smitten, even after declaring it wasn’t going to be more than a one night stand. Don’t get me wrong, there was a lot of good, angsty back and forth between both Ethan and Vada. About the time we thought they were committed, they retreated and it felt like we had to start all over again. I loved that. Conflict written well, makes me very happy. And this was. But there was also that insta-attachment which I both liked it and didn’t like, because sometimes it felt forced. Some of the dialogue felt off and a bit overdone.

The Wrap Up:
This was my first read by these two authors but I’m definitely going in for more. Ethan was super hot and I love finding new book boyfriends. He’s this week's hot-boy!

Lyra Parish loves to write, glamp, and sing obnoxiously loud at the top of her lungs in the shower. Sweet love stories (along with the dirty ones) make her gush. She is a firm believer that a person can never have too many cups of coffee, cats, or happily ever afters. When she isn’t busy writing with Brooke as Kennedy Fox, she can be found sipping various beverages from her non-alcoholic drink buffet, pimp slapping excel spreadsheets, or riding her bike.
