BOOK BLURB:
Don’t love your enemy. Declare war on him.

Seventeen-year-old Isis Blake hasn’t fallen in love in three years, nine weeks, and five days, and after what happened last time, she intends to keep it that way. Since then she’s lost eighty-five pounds, gotten four streaks of purple in her hair, and moved to Buttcrack-of-Nowhere, Ohio, to help her mom escape a bad relationship.

All the girls in her new school want one thing—Jack Hunter, the Ice Prince of East Summit High. Hot as an Armani ad, smart enough to get into Yale, and colder than the Arctic, Jack Hunter's never gone out with anyone. Sure, people have seen him downtown with beautiful women, but he's never given high school girls the time of day. Until Isis punches him in the face.

Jack’s met his match. Suddenly everything is a game.

The goal: Make the other beg for mercy.
The game board: East Summit High.
The reward: Something neither of them expected.

5+ Fire & Ice Prince Stars!
Exceptional in EVERY way! This book ... it was PERFECT!

The Review:
I freaking LOVED this book! I mean, seriously LOVED IT!

The moment I read the first page, I was like, ok, this is different. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it. Sometimes when you read characters that are a bit sarcastic or outside the norm, it can be overdone or the author doesn’t quite manage to pull it off, or the jokes can be hit or miss. But by page two, I KNEW I was in for something special. And I wasn’t wrong. This read not only worked, it was FANTASTIC! Everything was a spot-on, belly-rolling-laugh-out-loud, thoughtful, affecting, emotional HIT!

I can honestly say, I don’t think I’ve ever read banter and dialogue that was as surprising and incredible or as well done as it was here. The back and forth between Isis and the Ice Prince was amazing in ways I won’t be able to describe in this review. You’ll just have to read it for yourself to believe it.

And the writing ... absolutely flawless! From the very beginning, I was engaged, enthralled and consumed. I HAD to keep reading. I couldn’t put it down, so I completely devoured it all in one sitting.

Story/Characters...
Isis Blake is the new girl at East Summit High. She’s quirky, charismatic and openly speaks her mind. She’s also hiding a painful past filled with hurtful comments and tragic events. She hates bullies and the moment she sees her newfound friend, Kayla, getting schooled by the house party's most panted after hot-boy, she puts her fists up. Literally. To Isis, Jack is a confusing, irritating mystery. It’s war and she is determined to figure him out.

Jack Hunter doesn’t have time for trivial things or immature girls who can’t see past his pretty face and he certainly doesn’t have time for the new girl who is seriously getting under his skin. But there’s something about her that reluctantly draws him in and peaks his interests. From the moment she confronts him, it’s game on and he’s not backing down for anything.

I loved Isis’s character. She was pure, delightful and amazingly upbeat, even while harboring some serious self-doubts. Someone as fun and beautiful as her, should never have to endure that kind of pain she did from her past. But she prevailed! And between her funny commentary and her emotional heartbreak, I found myself in a sea of emotions, drifting back and forth between laughing hysterically, feeling those delicious chest pangs I love so much, and complete and utter heartbreak. She was witty, entertaining and fun to read and she had a no nonsense attitude that sucked me in and had me anxiously waiting to see her next move!

Jack was intense, mysterious and downright ice cold. And I swear he must have studied under Sherlock Holmes, because he seemed to notice everything. Nothing gets past him but as his layers are revealed, you realize there is so much more to him than the bored, world-weary boy he portrays.

And when all the secrets are revealed and the bombs are dropped, exposing their pasts, I was stunned, excited and riveted!

The author sucker punches us with a jaw dropping cliffy and I’m soooooo glad that all the books are out because I plan to devour the next two immediately.

The Wrap Up:
Perfect story. Perfect plot. Perfect characters. Perfect character interactions. Perfect dialogue. And perfect writing. Did I mention it was perfect? Because it is. Absolutely perfect.
