BOOK BLURB:
After a car accident killed her parents when she was a child, Bronagh Murphy chose to box herself off from people in an effort to keep herself from future hurt. If she doesn't befriend people, talk to them or acknowledge them in any way they leave her alone just like she wants.
When Dominic Slater enters her life, ignoring him is all she has to do to get his attention. Dominic is used to attention, and when he and his brothers move to Dublin, Ireland for family business, he gets nothing but attention. Attention from everyone except the beautiful brunette with a sharp tongue.
Dominic wants Bronagh and the only way he can get to her, is by dragging her from the boxed off corner she has herself trapped in the only way he knows how... by force.
Dominic wants her, and what Dominic wants, Dominic gets.
4.5 “Fuckface” Stars!
This book was perfectly ridiculous ... and a ridiculously perfect!
The Review:
Sometimes you just need a little bit of insanity in your life and this book fills that spot nicely. LOVED IT!
Dominic and Bronagh were unstable, maladjusted and totally dysfunctional ... and probably one of my favorite couples so far this year! They are complete nutters but also sweet, fun and seriously cute together. I couldn’t get enough of this book!
Story/Characters...
Nine years ago, after losing her parents, Bronagh Murphy declared everyone off limits. She has no want or desire for personal relationships with anyone, whether it be friendship or something more, she shies away from all interaction and all emotional connections.
But the day she walks into her reg. class and sees the new hotboy sitting at her table, she sheds her disrespect and insults all over him, which only seems to incite him and suddenly the invisible girl is now seen by all.
Dominic Slater and his house full of hot brothers have just moved to Ireland for their family business. On his first day, he meets the most cranky and filterless girl he’s ever come across. And the moment she doesn’t swoon at his feet like most girls, but rather slaps him silly across his fantastically handsome face, he’s totally and completely smitten.
These two together were hilarious! Nemesis from the start, they trade barbs and get on each others nerves. The things they do to one another were entertaining to read, to say the least. I was laughing one minute and getting those beautiful butterflies and chest pangs I love so much the next.
Bronagh is adamant in protecting her heart so she goes beyond the norm to keep Dominic away, but it always backfires on her because having a girl turn him down is something new to Dominic and she only intrigues him further. I loved Bronagh’s character. Her outlandish, quirky attitude and her fiery spirit were a blast to read and she came up with some inventive one-liners and laugh-out-loud revenge tactics. I loved how she wasn’t intimidated by just being herself. She was who she was and she didn’t apologize for it.
Dominic is a possessive hothead and I LOVED HIM! He was domineering, a total player, a bit insane and a complete arsehole ... and also absolutely adorable! Once he set his sights on Bronagh, he was committed and NOTHING was going to stop him from getting his girl ... no matter how hard she pushed him away. *swoon*
And those brothers... WOW! So many abs, so little time, LOL!
The Wrap Up:
Dominic was brilliant! I just finished it and already want to do a reread. It had a bit of lite angsts, a sinfully hot hero and a lively heroine, was filled with amazing writing and was just a lot of fun to read! It had a fantastic supporting cast and all the little side stories left me giddy for the rest of the books in the series. This book was incredibly absurd, a bit comical and totally over the top in places, but it also worked in every way. It was fun, sexy (Dominic’s dirty talk was HOT, HOT, HOT!) and seriously entertaining. I couldn’t put it down!
