RATING: 4 Stars!
I met Bianca in an elevator.
She was on her way to interview me when we got stuck.
The beautiful, raven-haired reporter assumed I was a delivery guy because of the way I was dressed.
She had no clue I was really Dex Truitt, the wealthy, successful businessman she’d dubbed “Mister Moneybags”—her afternoon appointment.
Bianca told me how much she hated Dex’s type—snobby, over educated, silver- spooned men who didn't appreciate the simple things in life.
So, after the elevator finally started moving again, I cancelled the interview and let her believe I was someone I wasn’t—a bike messenger named Jay. I loved the way she looked at the fake me and didn't want it to end.
I began dating her as “Jay”—all the while letting her interview the real me over email.
I didn’t expect that our chemistry online would be just as hot.
I didn’t expect the mess I’d gotten myself into.
I didn’t expect that Jay and Dex would fall in love with her.
And she was falling for two men.
Only, both men were me.
And when she found out, we were both going to lose her.
Nothing could have prepared me for that day. And I certainly wasn't prepared for what came after.
All good things must come to an end, right?
Except our ending was one I didn't see coming.

4 Whittling Stars!
Cute, romantic and addictive! Another win from the amazing Keeland/Ward duo!
Welp, they did it again! Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward have come together and punched a hole right through my feels with this powerhouse novel! I loved Mister Moneybags so much. Dax was yummy-hot and super sweet and Bianca was cheeky, strong and willful. These two were sexy and fun and the angsty-feels I got during their trials and hurdles only made their journey that much better.
Fantastic story and amazing writing. A must read!
Bianca George is suspicion of rich men, specifically the one she’s at the ritzy office building to meet. Set to interview the man she calls Mister Moneybags for her column in Financial Times, anxiety and stress take over her cool demeanor when the elevator she’s on stalls, and before she knows it, she’s in the dark, fondling her balls and screaming at the top of her lungs, freaking out the stranger with the oh-so-sexy voice, who’s stuck in the cart with her.
Dexter Truitt is the CEO of Montague Enterprise and though he’s elected to open the world to his face and forgo his privacy in a first-time ever interview, he’s struck dumb and in awe by the gorgeous, bold and somewhat cranky woman who claims to be there to interview a man she calls Mister Moneybags. Him! And the way she says it, lets him know immediately she’s not impressed. So what does he do? Lie. And lie some more.
These two were hilarious in their first meet and greet. I loved how they connected immediately and how even though Dex lied, he was seriously guilt ridden over it. These two go through a rough start and as the lie grows between them, things kinda get out of hand, but in a totally offbeat and funny way. Dex really digs a deep hole but Bianca gets her revenge in a scene that left me in giggles and swooning at the same time.
But what I really loved about this story is it didn’t end there. There was more drama, angsts and truths to come out before it was all said and done. This had elements from all the romance genres we love, like second-chance romance, friends-to-lovers romance, forbidden romance, two guys fighting for the same girl kind of romance (even if the two guys are actually the same guy!), and a bit of two-truths-and-a-lie kind of romance ... all wrapped into one amazing story. Dex and Bianca had so many life altering obstacles to overcome.
As for the characters themselves, well, Dex was seriously down to earth, sweet and understanding. He could have easily walked away, but he knew the treasure Bianca was and he was willing to fight for her, even when things seemed hopeless. He was her stronghold and he tried hard to make everything okay. I adore heroes who can find small ways to care for his woman and Dex did that. As for Bianca, in the beginning, I really thought I might not like her. She was very judgmental and seemed to have a chip on her shoulder about ... pretty much everything. But as her story unfolds and you learn more about her, you realize she has these preconceived notions about people because of her past. And when she realizes she’s wrong, she admits it and owns her mistakes.
Their chemistry... WOW! This was definitely a slow build to romance and a lot slower travel to the bedroom, but they had the delicious sexual tension going throughout the whole book.
The Wrap Up:
Two amazing authors, one fantastic story ... again! This rockin’ author duo knows how to nail down the chemistry and the angst to make a story read like real life, all the while letting the reader escape into the fantasy of it all. Any time Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward want to write a book, I’m there with bells on and this one, is definitely going into my reread pile.
