BOOK BLURB:
From New York Times bestselling author, Penelope Ward, comes a sexy, STANDALONE second-chance romance.

They called him Mack Daddy. No, seriously, his name was Mack. Short for Mackenzie. Thus, the nickname. Perfect, right?

So was he: perfect. The perfect physical male specimen.

At the private school where I taught, Mack Morrison was the only man around in a sea of women.

Everyone wanted a piece of the hot single father of the sweet little boy.

I was riddled with jealousy, because they didn’t know that—to me—he was much more.

They didn’t know about our past.

He’d chosen my school for his son on purpose, because Mack and I, we had unfinished business.

As my friend Lorelai so eloquently put it: “Unfinished business between two people who are clearly attracted to each other is like an eternal case of blue balls.” And I was suffering in pain from my case.

I was still intensely attracted to Mack. I tried to resist him, immersing myself further into a relationship with another man just to protect my heart.

Not to mention, getting involved with a parent was strictly against school rules. But seeing Mack day in and day out was breaking me down.

And soon I might be breaking all the rules.

Author's note – Told in alternating points of view, Mack Daddy is a full-length standalone novel.

4.5 Mack Daddy Stars!
A wonderful second chance romance that grabs your attention right from the start. The hero is deliciously sexy and super sweet and the story delivers all the “feels”. I couldn’t put this one down!

The Review:
Books that grip me tight in the first page and don’t let me go until the last page are my absolute favorite kinds of reads. This is that kind of read. From the moment this book opens, you know you're in for a treat with some angsty feels, clever dialogue and a story so incredibly well done, you just hate for it to ever end. I loved this book!

Story/Characters...
Francesca O’Hara is a first grade teacher at St. Matthew’s, a private catholic school in Boston. She lives with her boyfriend, Victor, who is seventeen years her senior. Having gotten past a lot of her anxiety disorder and OCD from her youth, she’s comfortable, secure and at peace. That is until her past collides with her present and her old college roommate walks through her classroom door with his eight year old son. The same college roommate she was desperately in love with and never quite got over.

Mack Morrison has made a lot of mistakes in his time but being a father has brought a profound meaning to his life. He’s fulfilled and happy with the exception of losing the one girl who brought him joy, the one girl he truly ever loved. Moving back to Boston and enrolling his son into Frankie’s class is a desperate attempt to bring his son out of his shell with the help of Frankie who can relate to his anxiety disorder. But he’s also back in hopes for a second chance and put right what once went wrong.

First off, we get a duel POV with some amazing flashbacks to Mack and Frankie’s roommate days. Mack has a long distance relationship and Frankie is alone. Later, when they reconnect, the rolls are reversed and Frankie is the one with a boyfriend and Mack is free. Timing seems to be an issue for these two, but Mack is determined to have his girl. The parallels are so much fun. AND, it’s important to note, there is NO real physical cheating in this book, which I appreciated.

Mack was so freaking sweet! From the moment he arrived at Frankie’s classroom, he brought an air of delicious tension. He was open and honest with his reasons for being there and he was determined to get Frankie to remember their past and want a future with him as desperately as he did.

Their chemistry was super hot, but most of all, they connected on an emotional level that you don’t see a lot in romances. Usually, it’s all about the sex or the chemistry, but Mack fell in love with Frankie’s uniqueness, her quirkiness and her complete honesty. Frankie was truly original and just a lot of fun to get to know.

The Wrap Up:
This book was an amazing read. Being a long time fan of this author, I knew I would love it, especially with that amazing blurb. But this read just got better as the pages turned and all the feelings I experienced along their journey, along with the superb writing made me want to restart it as soon as I hit the last page. Sweet, romantic, energetic, heartwarming, angsty and fun. You definitely want to one-click this one.
