BOOK BLURB:
He told me to 'settle, girl.'
He asked if 'something was wrong with me?'
He said I was an ‘easy target.’
That was within minutes when I first met Caden Banks.
I labeled him an *sshole, but he was more than that. Arrogant. Smug. Alpha.

He was also to-die-for gorgeous, and my stepbrother’s fraternity brother.

Okay, yes I was a little naive, a tad bit socially awkward, and the smallest amount of stalker-ish, but if Caden Banks thought he could tell me what to do, he had another thing coming.

I came to college with daydreams about being with my stepbrother, but what would happen if I fell for the anti-stepbrother instead?

REVIEWER'S NOTE: Anti-Stepbrother is a New Adult, Romance written by Tijan. I was gifted a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review through The Rock Stars of Romance.

5 “Caden Banks - SWOON!” Stars!
This heartwarming friends-to-lovers romance is a perfect ten! Witty and fun with a little bit of angsts, Anti-Stepbrother is a must read!

The Review:
Anti-Stepbrother is an outstanding read! Being a huge fan of this author, I knew I was going to be in for a delectable treat when we got word she had a new stand alone coming out and trust me when I say, this book was nothing short of amazing. I loved every romantic, clever, sweet moment between Caden and Summer. Another fantastic read from Tijan!

Story/Characters...
Kevin Matthews is self-centered, clueless and egocentric. He was top dog in highschool but that boy had a few things to learn about himself, about the world and about people in general. Calling him a douche-canoe wouldn’t be too inaccurate.

Summer Stoltz has been in love with her step-brother, Kevin, for the last two years. Going to college to be with him seemed like the next step after their summer night of love, but when she gets there, she’s faced with a reality she never expected as the blinders fall away and Kevin Matthews true colors shine through.

Summer is left vulnerable after her heart has been stomped on and when she literally bumps into Caden Banks, he leaves her with an offensive first impression and a rapid heartbeat. She officially titles the hottie, “Asshole”.

Caden and Summer start off their relationship with an adorable awkwardness and some sassy barbs, but soon find themselves being thrown together in weird circumstances where their friendship blooms and takes off.

I loved Summer. She was uncomplicated and honest to a fault. She was somewhat naive and when we first meet her, she’s living in a bit of delusion, but that soon changes. She was brave and strong and the right kind of weird. I loved watching as she slowly left her wallflower ways behind, allowing her confidence to grow, and letting her spirited, bold inner badass take over. She was an inspiration and a breath of fresh air.

Caden is a no-nonsense kind of guy. A family tragedy has left him reeling and he’s determined to live every day as a better man. His attraction to Summer starts off because she’s different and real. But he’s also cautious with her because he senses she has feelings for Kevin. Soon though, her goofy, quick-witted character draws him in and their steady friendship blooms into a beautiful, full on friends-to-lovers romance that left my heart melting and a goofy smile on my face.

As always, this author provides a round-house of fascinating, lively characters. Marcus and Avery were a delightful side story that added an extra bit of romance to our romance! I loved watching these two find one another. And Colton.... Oh how I loved his story. My heart broke while it also soared for the challenges he faced and the love that surrounded him.

Side Note...
This read was phenomenal and don’t misunderstand, I loved every wonderful, heartfelt minute of it, and it’s totally deserving of the five stars I’m giving it. But I’ve come to expect a certain amount of drama and angst from this author. Her books are usually filled with a heavy dose of angsty drama with a side of drama topped with a big drama garnish and they have a way of making me feel like I’m standing on a cliff, with a dark, bottomless pit below and with just one push (which she has always delivered in past books), I could be free-falling into that over-the-top drama and angsts her stories provide. This book was more of a feel-good story than a drama-angst story and though Caden was handsome and hot and sweet, he lacked that dark brooding and intense sexual vibe I'm used to in her hero's. It was a nice switch up from her norm, but as much as I loved this book, I also kind of missed that stomach clenching, free-fall feeling.

The Wrap Up:
Anti-Stepbrother was a perfect romance and one I will enjoy time and again. I love rereading books and this one is already in my reread pile! I heart Caden hard!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR...

I didn't begin writing until after undergraduate college. There'd been storylines and characters in my head all my life, but it came to a boiling point one day and I HAD to get them out of me. So the computer was booted up and I FINALLY felt it click. Writing is what I needed to do. After that, I had to teach myself how to write. I can't blame my teachers for not teaching me all those years in school. It was my fault. I was one of the students that was wishing I was anywhere but at school! So after that day, it took me lots of work until I was able to put together something that resembled a novel. I'm hoping I got it right since someone must be reading this profile! And I hope you keep enjoying my future stories.
