NOTE from me: If you've been following me over the past couple of weeks, you know I binge read all the published books in The Fallen Crest series by Tijan... in ONE WEEKEND a couple of weeks ago! I couldn't get enough of this series. As soon as I was done, a turned around and reread the series again, taking it slower and savoring it. In addition to the main books, also read the novellas and the freebies with the exception of the Alternate version for book two, Family. I'll get to that one after my Fallen Crest HIGH has worn off. ;) (The Alternate version is book two of the series that was originally written but Tijan decided to rewrite it a different way and published "Family" to continue the series. But instead of scrapping Alternate, she gave it to the fans for free. How awesome is that??) I'll read Alternate soon... just not now. I also need to read Logan Kade (Fallen Crest #5.5) which is Logan's book, but I'm also saving that one for a little later. It's all about savoring.. amIRight? I suggested this series to a friend. She's not that into drama or over-the-top stories but by 20% of book 1, she was so into the story she had three books read before she came up for air and called me to fuss me out for getting her hooked to "the book crack"! Thought I'd share that, just in case you were doubting the awesomeness of this series. Now.. on to my review!

BOOK BLURB:
Fallen Crest is back with a vengeance!
Samantha, Mason, and Logan are all together and united with one common enemy: Sebastian Park, the king of fraternity douchebags.
With professional football scouts eyeing his every move, Mason Kade has to walk the line for the first time in his life. Any move he makes against Sebastian has to be perfect and under the radar. One mistake, and his career is over.
Sebastian has other plans. Mason’s career isn’t his target—not even close. Wanting to destroy Mason completely, Sebastian knows he must hit him where it hurts the most: Samantha, who doesn’t give a rat’s ass that she’s the target.
Sam is bound and determined to protect Mason herself, no matter the cost, but what if the cost is beyond her imagination? What if this time, the villain wins?
5+ Amazing Stars!
The Review:
They are back baby! YES! The Fearsome Foursome are back together and it’s them against the world once again! I can’t get enough of this series! I mean really, it’s so addicting and all consuming... Waiting for the next book is going to be torture.
“What the hell is wrong with these people?”...
That’s the big question I had throughout the entirety of this book. I mean, does social status and being top dog mean that much to some people? So much so, that they’ll hurt, scheme, lie, break and stab anyone who gets in their way? Still sporting a sore ego from the last book, Seb-ass-tian is the big bad in this story and trust me when I say, he is definitely the douchecanoe he portrays himself to be. What. A. Loser!
Mason’s hands are tied...
Mason has always been the protector. But this time around, he has more to protect than just Logan and Sam. He has to protect himself or he could lose it all. In the past, being in the spotlight was always an asset when he needed things done, but this time around, his future and his career are in jeopardy if he doesn’t watch how he handles things. And with this new adversary gunning not only for him, but for Sam as well, he feels the strain as he has to sit back and be the one protected this time. It was odd but also pretty awesome seeing a new, cautious side to Mason. He’s always been the strong one, the leader and the one to be first in line to break-bad. This time, he’s still very much the strong character you’ve grown to love, but he’s also vulnerable and it seems his confidence is shaken a little. Watching him struggle portrayed a new and exciting side to his character and I loved all the angsty, intense moments of it as he and Sam try to find their footing in this different set up. But... in true Mason fashion, looks can be deceiving.
Sam is determined...
... not to be the boys’ Achilles heel any longer. She’s been in the crosshairs before and she’s had both Logan and Mason to watch out for her, but she wants to be an asset instead of a liability. So this time, she’s sworn to protect Mason, Logan and even Nate... who are her family... no matter the consequences. I’ve loved Sam since the first book and if it was possible, I grew to love her even more in this one. She’s really grown up since the first book. She’s struggled and been pushed down but she ALWAYS gets back up and pushes back harder. She’s such a kickass character and I love how she fights for her family. Her love and strength and determination are incredible. And I enjoyed watching her learn to trust again. She’s slowly healing, even in the light of these new obstacles and it’s beautiful to watch. I just can’t say enough good things about her character.
Everyone is stronger...
... more wise, more mature and though they might still be keeping secrets to protect one another, it’s not out of fear of rejection or loss. They’ve learned to trust each other and rely on one another. Even Logan, who was always the one to swing first and ask questions later, has learned to use his Mason-like ways to suss out the enemy. He stepped up big time and though he’s still the wiseass and manwhore we love, he’s grown and matured.
It was so exciting watching these guys find their way in this new environment. Gone are the petty hook-up squabbles and catty bitch-grabbers. This isn’t high school drama anymore. They are playing in the big leagues with these new and much more dangerous foes and anything goes when it comes to how those new foes try to get their way.
OMG! Three POV’s! I’ve died and gone to POV heaven!...
We not only get Sam’s POV but we also get Mason (again! -- YAY!!) AND Logans!! YES! Book life doesn’t get any better than this. As with the first four books, this book was filled with tension, angsts, drama, love, sweet and sexy time between Mason and Sam and awesome Logan one liners. You’re going to love this read!
No one can stop this little family, but it sure is entertaining to watch them try. I can’t wait for book 6!
