BOOK BLURB:
Passion dominates the diamond in the second novel in this fun and flirty baseball romance series by the author of High Heat.

Paul Dudley, president of the Plainview Thrashers, is spinning out of control. Preserving his family’s baseball legacy in these tough times takes everything he’s got, and constant clashes with his father have left him struggling for authority over the team and even his own future. So when sports reporter Willow Bourne, a one-night-stand from a year ago, walks back into his life, he knows he can’t give into his feelings for her—no matter how strong they are.

Willow never expected to see Paul again, and she’s got her reasons for keeping her distance. Except the more time she spends around Paul, the harder it is to hide her secrets—or stop herself from falling head over heels.

As the sparks between them fly, Paul discovers what Willow has been concealing from him, leaving him with a difficult choice—keep the team his top priority or make his own legacy by following his heart…

DREAM CAST
I had to do a little digging and give it some thought to come up with a dream cast for Screwball. Paul Dudley, my hero, isn't a typical chest-beating alpha male hero. He's more of a beta, but with an emphasis on being a highly loyal, reliable caretaker-type who takes his duty very seriously. An old-fashioned character in a way. For him, I would need an actor who was good-looking, sure, but who could also be believable in a role requiring patience, determinations, and a certain long-suffering sense of obligations that he needs to fulfill but that don't necessarily make him happy. For Paul, I give you Alexander Skarsgard. (Did I mention Paul is also a hot blond guy. Not enough of those around, IMO.)

For Willow Bourne, I needed an actress who could match Paul's intelligence, but also bring to life the vulnerability and insecurity that Willow has for a whole host of reasons. She's not insecure about her looks, but she's made often disastrous choices in men and career, and she doubts herself for that reason, sure she's on the verge of another life-changing blunder with Paul. For Willow, I give you Emma Stone. (And being a very pretty redhead doesn't hurt, either.)
