Enjoyable, Light and Creative! I Loved This One!
The Review:
Throb is a good ol’ fashion romance story that was easy and fun to read and kept my attention the whole way through. The writing was intelligent, the characters were enjoyable and had amazing chemistry and even though there was a love triangle, it was done so well, I never got upset at any of the characters actions. I'm a huge fan of this author and this book was definitely another win!
Story/Characters...
Cooper is CEO of Montgomery Productions, an A-list studio in Hollywood. Like his father before him, he prides himself on integrity and controls his company with compassionate authority. In the same business, his jealous brother Miles, who has become a dark spot on their legacy with all the debt he’s acquired, also owns his own production company and constantly has to go to his brother for help. Unlike Miles, people genuinely like Copper and think a lot of his accomplishments. But with all that success, he’s yet to find the one who completes him.
Kate has had a rough couple of years. Her father, who lived his life loose and fast, dependent upon the luck of the draw to see him through, left her drowning in debt with a sick mother and a disabled brother. With the bills mounting and no relief in sight, she jumps at the chance to play the girl next door on Miles Montgomery’s reality tv show. Signing a contract and promising not to find love outside the set or release any details about the show should be simple since she knows how to play the game.
However, she never expected to meet two men who had the potential to turn her world completely upside down with one look.
Cooper and Kate were wonderful together. Cooper was a bit intense, seductive, sinfully hot and his dominate streak was omg-sexy! He could command a room with few words, either in a boardroom or in the bedroom. And even though Kate was instantly attracted to Cooper and still had to fulfill her contract with the sexy rocker, Flynn, I never felt a “cheating” vibe. The story was very well done and made me really adore all three of them. Cooper broke my heart as he tried to deal with the woman he loved connecting with another man and Kate was as honest as she could be, given the situation she found herself in. She had integrity and morals and her heart was always in the right place.
And lets not forget Flynn. I loved that in the beginning, you just don’t know if he’s as genuine as he seems. I mean he’s playing bachelor to a handful of women. But I quickly fell under Flynn’s spell and can not wait for the next book, which will be about him.
The Wrap Up:
This was a great story that was a lot of fun to read and left me feeling lighthearted. The steam factor was there, I could relate to both the hero and heroine and I enjoyed the character interactions. Yeah, I’d definitely say this one was a win!
