Great Start! But I Need The Rest, Now!
The Review:
I didn’t know this going in... and if I had, I probably wouldn’t have signed up for it. So its totally on me for not realizing this was a SERIAL when I started it. I dislike serials, mostly because by the time you really get into them, they end and you have to wait, longer than I like, for the next installment. That being said...
I'm really glad I didn’t pass this one over because I'm totally hooked!
This first installment starts off with an intense beginning, that immediately hooked me. The heroine is in dire trouble but before you get a sense of what's going on or who’s who, you're thrown back in time, incrementally, recounting moments that lead up to the beginning! Yup, we start out in the future, getting small moments in time, until we reach present day and those moments are packed full of “what the hell is going on!” scenes. And to add excitement to all of that, we then get flashback from her past! Its all very “here and then” but never confusing.
Lilly finds herself in a scary situation where we know instantly things have gone wrong. But as the scenes unfold, we find out little bits of information about Lilly and her life, all of which pulled me into the story and kept my interest captive, right along side Lilly. She’s a regular girl caught in a terrifying situation and all we know is that she’s captive in a game of wills and she’s losing, quickly.
What I find most interesting is we don't really know anything about her kidnapper and what his motives are but I can assure you, I will be glued to this serial and anticipating the next release, until I find out!
The Wrap Up:
This first installment is a fast paced, intense, mysterious thrill ride. It’s not too terribly dark but it does have you wondering just what is going on. You get very little information about J.S., but enough to have you intrigued and wanting more. I can’t wait for installment two, which isn’t due out until April 2014! Guh! Thats too long a wait! But I'm so glad I opted to read and review this one.
