Asher Mayson... I “heart” You!
November is leaving the big city of New York, where she’s lived all her life with her invidious mother, after getting dragged into an alley and having the crap beat out of her by a stranger. Her mom? Thats one offensive woman. All throughout the story, we get little bits of information of just how badly this women mistreated her daughter, including sleeping with her fiancé.
Yeah, I’d leave to!
No longer feeling safe in NY, she moves to experience small town life in Tennessee and also get to know her estranged father better, who she grew up not knowing. Yet another thing her mother kept from her. When she arrives, she’s immediately accepted into her fathers life and her new family are thrilled to meet and love her.
Accepting a job to work at her fathers strip club as a business manager only, she shows up on her fathers arm, introduced as “his girl”, as she calls him “daddy”.
All innocent, right?
Well, someone’s watching from the sidelines and he doesn't like what he sees.
In comes the hot, lucious, all manly-man, alpha, brooding bad boy, Asher Mayson! Who has some rather choice words for “the bosses girl” who likes to call the old man “daddy”.
Which leads to one of the most awkward and fascinating introductions ever! I loved this first meeting. It was weird, confusing and so damn funny!
Of course this totally turns November off so here comes the conflict but also some very hot, steamy, not-to-be-denied chemistry. These guys were just so much fun and each scene they were in, I was either fanning myself or grinning from ear to ear.
There’s a bit more conflict as it seems November might have a stalker but for the most part, this is a light, well written, very sexy, sweet, romantic read.
November was a great heroine. She was lovely and innocent and down to Earth. And Asher was super fine even when he was being a hot mess!
The Wrap Up:
This book ends with a HEA and a fantastic Epilogue to wrap up everything for these two characters in a nice, beautiful package. I can’t wait to move on to book two in the series, Until Trevor, which is Trevor and Liz’s story who we are introduced to in this book. And if Trevor is anything like Asher, I'm in for one hell of a bossy, control freak man, to fog up my reading glasses.. again!
