Delilah Palmer has control of her life and outward personality, blocking the truth just below the surface. A façade meant to be normal and hide the scars of her childhood. She’s made a good life for herself, became a lawyer, and is free from the tortured past that haunts her daily. Until he comes along and breaks open the cracks.
Nathan Thorne has a past of his own. On the surface he is loved by all, personable, extroverted; everything Delilah isn’t. Hidden beneath is a dark and tormented man that only Delilah has to power to unveil.
Crammed in a small office together they see through each other’s masks, and the draw becomes too much, igniting an explosive relationship. Holloway and Holloway Law has a strict non-fraternization policy, forcing them to conceal their breach. Despite their efforts, separation becomes impossible, deceptions escalate, and Nathan has trouble coping; teetering on the edge of being overtaken by his past demons.
What secrets does he harbor that could keep him from giving in? What keeps him from healing and moving forward? And Delilah, where does she fit into all this turmoil?
Can they accept love and deal with all the trials that come their way when secrets are exposed? Or will they fall through the cracks of their pasts and be consumed by all that haunts them?
Genre - Erotica/Dark/Contemporary Romance
Warning: This book is Rude, Crude, Smutty and Filled With Page Turning Lusty Goodness!
The Review:
Breach was hot, steamy, salacious, lewd, obscene… DIRTY! Choose you’re synonym! There was so much down and dirty rough sex and rude talk going on between the two leads, my face was aflame the majority of the book.
Characters…
Delilah Palmer works in a prominent law firm and is secure and successful in what she does. She exudes an air of confidence and bitchyness that others throw off as cold and frigid but it’s all a mask for underneath the exterior is a self abhorrence created by an abusive past she can’t seem to escape. She has one true friend and likes to get drunk alone on Friday nights. Her life is lonely, secluded and empty… for getting close to someone only leads to heartache because who could truly love her, right?
Left to do the work of four people since her officemate left four months ago, Lila is surprised by the new employee. Enter the delectable, sexy and bold Nathan Thorne and sparks immediately light up what Lila thought was a deadened heart. But his outward confidence is exasperating as his sexy smirk irritates every sensibility Lila has. He even has the ladies in the office, which Lila had aptly named the “boob squad” in a panty twist as the clothing becomes more provocative, the flirting more indecent and their attitude toward her snottier. But because Lila wears a mask, it’s easy to spot those who do as well and she starts to see beyond the surface of Nathan.
Story…
Everything finally comes to a head one night in the office as Nathan and Lila rip at each other’s clothes and the wickedest dirty talk I’ve ever read is born! These two steam up the pages with their rough and dirt sex, leaving the reader fanning themselves as these two carry on a secret affair.
Just when you think things can’t any more tawdry or shocking, they do, leaving no surface untouched by their rough romping.
Lila finds herself falling further into the darkness she’s tried so hard to avoid as her feelings grow for the dark, brooding Nathan. His past is so close at hand he can’t let himself feel so when Lila lets on that she has feelings, he panics and wants to let go. But Lila accepts him as he accepts her and is content with what he’s willing to give. But how long will darkness survive when light threatens to pour over it and what happens when one or both won’t leave the darkness behind?
The Wrap Up:
As a whole, I enjoyed this book immensely!!! But I’ve come to HATE cliffys with a passion. This was 155 pages of awesome and is going to leave me hanging until September 2013! Ugg! But… Will I read book two, Infraction (Breach #2), when its released? Cha-Yeeeah!
NOTE:: Breach was sent as a LendMe through a friend of mine, Amy at GR's, and I bow before her brilliance! You were right.. I loved the smut, I loved the story and I loved the characters. Thanks girl! You ROCK!
