I know I’m not supposed to love him, but ... I heart Keiran so hard right now!
If this was real life, I’d probably wish for someone to cut his balls off and roast them on a spit while he watched on in abject horror. But then again ... he’d probably find that funny. :D
Seriously though. How can I even start to put into words everything I’m feeling after all that happened in this read? First off, I am stunned, in all the right ways, by everything that happened between Lake and Keiran. It was totally and completely insane from start to finish. AND I LOVED IT!

Thrilling and exciting scenes. Sexual-tension galore. Dark cruelty. Forceful bullying. Heart-pounding encounters. Beautiful, glorious chest pangs. Scary psycho antics. Bit-my-lip sexy anti-hero and meek but stubborn heroine! This book had EVERYTHING! If I didn’t already have book two ready to read, I’d go right back to the beginning and start this one all over again. IMMEDIATELY!
I thrive on stories with a dark, possessive male lead who might be a little on the insane side. Keiran could definitely be considered that ... and more.
Story/Characters...
At age eight, Lake Monroe’s life changed irrevocably. First her parents disappear. Then she meets a beautiful monster that spends the next ten years tormenting and bullying her. But then, for one solid year, Lake knew peace. Now, her life is turned upside down once again as she has to figure out how to deal with the return of the devil when he’s hell bent on revenge.
Keiran Masters has a secret past and a bleak outlook on his future. But the one thing he’s looking forward to is revenge. And he’s going to get it, possess it, dominate it and exact every cruelty he can on it until he breaks it. And “it” is Lake Monroe.
This book was filled with some intense scenes that not everyone can appreciate, especially given the characters are in high school. But I fell in love with Keiran and his darkness right from the start. I also wanted to beat the hell out of him while I openly loved him, but knowing how perverse he is, he would have found that amusing too. Cuddly, he was NOT! He was depraved and heartless and the more I got to know him, the more I understood him. His desire to stamp out the goodness he saw in Lake was extreme, but for someone who had never been shown goodness, it made sense. He hated the light. Feared it, even. And Lake was a light in a very dark world. They say there’s a fine line between love and hate and if you have never experienced true compassion or love, then all that foreign emotion and all that passion has to be put into a category. And he chose hate. So he hated her and he wanted to make her pay for invoking so many emotions inside him. He was completely messed up by his past and I loved him all the more for it.
Lake was meek and sometimes timid and he fed off that fear. But even though she was scared, this girl was STRONG! Her fire waned with each passing cruelly but it never flamed out and I loved that about her. She endured so much bullying at his hands, but she survived it and better yet, she thrived on it.
The raging sexual tension between these two and the full on explosive chemistry just couldn't be denied. The author did a phenomenal job in giving us all those wonderful, intoxicating chest pangs we crave in romances like this. With excellent writing and storytelling, the author expertly splayed her characters open and showed every darkness, every light, every fear and every doubt they experienced. She delved deep to find their heart and soul and I connected with each and every one of them.
Along with the main story, I was glued to the subplots. Keenan, Sheldon, Dash and Willow were so much fun and added even more angsts to the story.
The Wrap Up:
Fear Me is an outstanding enemies-to-lovers story that truly gets under your skin! It was gritty, dark and totally jacked ... and completely, one-hundred percent amazing all at the same time.
