BOOK BLURB:
Things are well for Callie and Kayden. They’re still dealing with their past and the pain connected to it, but for the most part they’ve moved on. The biggest decision they have at the moment is what they want to do with their lives in the future.

Eventually, though, the past catches up with them and they’re left facing tough choices. But Callie and Kayden learn that as long as they have each other, they can make it through just about anything. And in the end, they discover what they really want out of life.

4 “Happily After” Stars!

The Review:
I’m such a bad, bad reader! I love Callie and Kayden. In fact, I love them so much, I read book one, then went on to book two and skipped right over book three, four and five, which features Luke and Violet, and went straight into book six, so I could get The Resolution of Callie & Kayden. I HAD to know how their story ends. And trust me, I might be a bad reader, but I’d do it all over again.

This book was a great ending to their story. Kayden is still struggling so hard with all the abuse his father reaped upon him. He’s trying to move forward but his father’s damaging voice, the horrific things he taunted Kayden with, are still screaming inside his head. The scars from both the physical abuse and the mental abuse are vivid and bright and every day he’s also confronted with the scars from the self-harm he did to himself. Kayden’s only lifeline is Callie.

Callie works hard and brilliantly so, to bring Kayden back to life. She never gives up on him and her love for him is stronger than ever. She’s put her demons in the past and is moving forward, determined to take Kayden with her. I loved how she confronted Kayden, even while he was stuck in that dark place she didn’t want to go back to herself, and showed him the light. She never wavered and she never backed away. She saved him, just as he saved her.

Their story is so emotional and harsh but also real. Just because they found love, didn’t mean the past just blew away in the wind. They worked hard to rediscover themselves and then they worked hard to hold on to each other. This books shows that continuing struggle and gives us the ending we all wanted. It lets both characters confront their pasts head on and gives them a beautiful path to a bright and happy future. I loved how the author ended things with them and though the road to their ending was paved with lots of tough moments, their journey was heartfelt and affecting.

This author has a talent for writing complex and emotional character and both Callie and Kayden will stick with me for a long time to come.

Now, back to Luke’s story, who I loved in this series. I’m eager to see what’s in store for him.
