BOOK BLURB:
When female wolf shifter Taryn Warner first encounters Trey Coleman, an alpha male wolf shifter with a dangerous reputation, she’s determined to resist his charms. After all, Trey—who was only fourteen when he defeated his own father in a duel, winning the right to be alpha of his pack—can’t have anything to offer the talented healer besides trouble, or so she thinks.

Taryn finds herself drawn in by Trey’s forceful demeanor and arctic-blue eyes, and she eventually agrees to enter an uneasy alliance with him. If the two succeed in convincing their respective packs that they’ve chosen each other as mates, Trey will win valuable political allies, while Taryn will escape an odious arranged mating.

But there are a lot of potential pitfalls to this plan—including the very real possibility that the wolf shifters, overwhelmed by their growing attraction to each other, will be unable to maintain the clear heads needed to pull off the deception.

4.5 Fantastic Feral Stars!
Witty, Exciting and Undoubtedly Sexy! I loved this read!

The Review:
I’m a first time reader for this author and what an amazing read it was!

First, I loved the writing. The author gave this book such passion and excitement and it showed in every paragraph. From the witty, exuberant dialogue to the sexy-steamy chemistry between the mains, to the exciting plot and the interesting side characters, everything melded together into a seamless story that I just couldn’t put down.

Story/Characters...
Taryn Warner isn’t happy about her arranged mating with someone she doesn’t love and who also has a reputation for being less than gentlemanly to his partners. So when Trey Coleman, a loose cannon himself, offers her a temporary mating in exchange for her father's connections to help in a war that's being waged on him, she takes the lesser of two evils and agrees to his terms.

Things aren’t civil between Taryn and Trey right from the start. They both have massive attitude and egos but the attraction is instant. I absolutely loved the push-pull between them, the instant lust and the slow build to trust and love. Trey has major trust issues and for good reason. His past is complicated and the people he should have been able to trust, turned on him. Taryn has abandonment issues, also with good reason. Her mother and the boy she thought of as her best friend and true mate, died when she was a child, leaving her with a father who, literally, threw her to the wolves because she was latent. Watching these two get past their issues and find themselves and then each other was beautiful.

Trey was intense and sexy as sin! I loved his character. We get dual POV’s in this story so we also get inside his head a little and what the author lays out had me loving every aspect of him. And holy hotness at his possessiveness! Sheww, that man and his wolf were a powerhouse of dominance and protectiveness. I absolutely loved his aggression and how he totally flipped out when his mate was threatened. He was the definition of sexy alpha-male. Yum!

Taryn was sharp, funny, loyal and fierce. I enjoyed her character so much and she has quickly became one of my favorite heroines in this genre. She was a little bit broken but she was also held together with an iron clad will and strength that I admire in my heroines. She wasn’t just page-candy either. She was a healer and an alpha and she didn’t take any crap from anyone. Her character had depth and passion. And snark! I have to mention the hilarious laugh out loud dialogue from this woman. There were so many times her one liners had me busting out in a fully belly laugh, especially when she went head to head with Trey’s grandmother. Those two were delightful!

I also loved the pack. This author did an excellent job drawing you into the characters pack life, their history, their stories and their individual personalities. Each one felt unique and I could easily see a separate story coming from each of them.

The Wrap Up:
This was an amazing read that filled all my paranormal-shifter wants. I love a great shifter romance and this hit just the right spot. I’ll be moving on to book two very soon!
