GUEST POST from Amanda Cowen!
We asked Amanda to talk about her favorite part of the book and why. Here's what she had to say!
I loved writing every single word in PERFECT SENSE, but if I had to choose, my favorite part would be when Cash and Quinn travel together to Thomson, Newfoundland, Canada (also known as Cash’s hometown).
In all romance novels, my favorite part is ALWAYS the turning point in the couple’s relationship. In Perfect Sense, Newfoundland is what I wrote as the turning point in Cash and Quinn’s relationship. I felt like it was the perfect place and time for Cash to start to open up and when I could finally let the reader (and Quinn) really get to know him on a deeper level. From the fishing trip, to Quinn meeting friends from his past, to his family’s home on the lake, to spending time at a farmer’s market – everything about this section of the book is when everything becomes real in their relationship.
I love how I built Cash’s character as a cocky-arrogant jock with a strong appetite for the opposite sex and how during this part of the book the real Cash shines through. You understand why he is the way he is, but yet his past and dark sordid secrets still remain in question. I love Quinn’s sudden change of heart during this time and the struggles she now faces in moving forward with her feelings for Cash. Their love is not perfect, nor does it even make sense at times, but they constantly fight for each other and that is why I love this part of Perfect Sense.
Of course, I do have to say that there is a second book in this series for a reason! Shit may go down, hearts may be broken, and secrets may be revealed, but one thing is for certain, this will not be the last of Cash and Quinn’s love story!!!!!!!
