BOOK BLURB:
Every nightmare has an end.

There’s no way Nora can ignore the beating. Same heavy boots. Same curses, same pained groans. But that was two years ago, and this a different man, a different part of war-ravaged Sarajevo. This is her second chance. She has to try.

And then she’s stuck with him, nursing him, putting up with him. Declan’s an ass. He’s rude and tactless. He’s arrogant. Dismissive.

Charming. Intense. Caring when she needs it most – and least expects it. He tears away the numbing fog that’s been her constant companion and offers her a way out and a way home.

And it damn near destroys her.

Nora’s survived two years in a war zone. Can Declan show her how to live?

We asked Amanda to list ten of her top favorite things for today's Guest Post. Here's what she had to say...

Amanda K. Byrne’s Top Ten Favorite Things

Asking me to name my favorite things is kind of a daunting task. It changes regularly, though there are a few that will make the list every time. So these top ten favorite things is a mix of “always make the list” and “on my list now”.

1) U2. I take a lot of crap from my friends for this, but U2 is my favorite band. They have been since I was a kid and understood what it meant to have a favorite. Beyond their music, there’s something kind of awesome about a group that’s played together since they were teenagers and still (mostly) like each other.

2) MI-5. MI-5 is a BBC show (called Spooks in the UK) that ran for 10 seasons, starting back in the early 2000’s. It’s about the inner workings of the British state security services, and I. LOVE. IT. It’s complex and smart and action-packed and intense, and they have this annoying tendency to kill off my favorite characters.

3) Raspberries. Sweet and tart. What’s not to love?

4) A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. This is another long-time favorite; it’s been my favorite book since I was in middle school. I’ve read it so many times I could give you a book-report worthy synopsis so you’d never have to read it yourself.

5) The Seattle International Film Festival. I love movies, and SIFF lets me gorge on them over a short period of time. They get foreign films and new releases that won’t be out for a few weeks, and it happens during one of the busiest times of my day job, giving me a much needed break.

6) Ghiradelli’s Hot Cocoa in Double Chocolate. Writing fuel. I’ve written many, many chapters with a cup of cocoa next to my laptop.

7) Foxes. I’ve had a thing for foxes lately. Baby foxes in particular, but foxes in general. Smart and pretty and just downright adorable.

8) Gerbera daisies. I love almost anything that’s brightly colored, so these flowers are perfect.

9) Cannon Beach, on the Oregon coast. I haven’t been there in years, but what I love about it is it’s a true vacation – so many times when I travel it’s to see family or it’s some place I’ve never been before so it’s like I’ve got an obligation to see historical landmarks and museums and the like. Cannon Beach is just there. Plus it’s great for flying kites.

10) OneRepublic’s “When Love Runs Out”. Every time this comes on the radio (yes, I still listen to the radio, with a dial and everything) I turn up the volume and start singing along. You might have seen me if you were in the car next to mine. *grins*

About the Author...

When she’s not plotting ways to sneak her latest shoe purchase past her partner, Amanda writes sexy, snarky romance and urban fantasy. She likes her heroines smart and unafraid to make mistakes, and her heroes strong enough to take them on.

If she’s not writing, she’s reading, drinking hot chocolate, and trying not to destroy her house with her newest DIY project. She lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and no, it really doesn’t rain that much.
