BOOK BLURB:
Emily McCarthy is living in fear of a dark and dangerous past. A gifted mathematician, she is little more than a hollow, broken shell, trying desperately to make ends meet long enough to finish her degree.
Through an unlikely friendship with the aging, cantankerous owner of an old boxing gym, Em is thrown into the path of the most dangerous man that she has ever met.
Cormac “the Hurricane” O’Connell is cut, tattooed and dangerous. He is a lethal weapon with no safety and everyone is waiting for the mis-fire. He’s never been knocked out before, but when he meet Em he falls, HARD. Unlike any other girl he’s ever met, she doesn’t want anything from him. Just being around her makes him want to be a better person.
They are polar opposites who were never meant to find each other, but some things are just worth the fight.

We asked the author to name her top ten favorite character moments for The Hurricane and here's what she had to say!
Top Ten Favorite Hurricane Character Moments
1) “If you need time then I’ll give you time. If you need friendship, then I’ll give you friendship. But your mine, and when the time is right, when you’re ready, I’m coming for you.”- This is O’Connell’s most Alpha male moment for me. He’ll give Em whatever she needs, but she belongs to him.
2) Danny’s Birthday- Every time I re-read this scene it makes me smile! I can picture a room full of huge, fierce fighters, waiting in terrified anticipation for the reaction of a tiny old man.
3) Tommy’s dance to ‘It’s Raining Men’- I can’t think of this scene without laughing out loud because this whole scene is based on a night out with one of my brothers. He’d had a few to drink and the dance floor was busy. When this song came on he went crazy, pulling the most outrageous seventies dance moves (think Gru at the end of Despicable Me). If you met him, you could never picture him doing it. He says that he does it when he gets sick of being jammed in on the dance floor and it helps him clear some space, but the women loved it!
4) Moby Dick- The idea of reading to your little girl when she’s lying sick in bed seems like one of the defining moments of fatherhood to me. It’s when we see Danny as the loving parent that Em should have had.
5) The proposal- I love that when most of his friends are only interested in cars and women, O’Connell sold his beloved car to buy Em a ring and to put towards a deposit on their own house. He knows exactly what he wants from Em and isn’t afraid to fight for it.
6) Breakfast in Bed- The first, most decadent breakfast in bed that Em ever has, courtesy of O’Connell, is a sign that Em might be wrong about him and his intentions.
7) Vomitgate- If you can throw up down the front of a man’s shirt in the middle of a bar, only to find that he still looks at you like you hung the moon. If he holds your hair back as you’re still vomiting the next morning and wants to take care of you when you are at your absolute worst. Then it must be true love.
8) Anthrax in a Tin- This is the first time that the guys really get to see just how special and thoughtful Em is.
9) The Tattoo- I love, not just how meaningful the quote is to O’Connell, but how he tattoos it straight away to himself. He already knows that Em is it for him and he isn’t afraid to mark his skin to prove that.
10) Bowling- This scene is so typical of the boys and their camaraderie with each other, but it’s also probably the first time that Em realises how much she loves her new family.
