BOOK BLURB:
Ashlyn Murphy was not living the dream. Twenty-seven years old, college educated, up to her eyeballs in debt and yet she’d been relegated to pouring beers at a local bar. She desperately needed an out and was willing to do anything to get back into the corporate world. Well, almost anything. Dan Evans, Rock Star was NOT one of those things. In fact she despised him. Apparently he didn’t get the memo.

Dan Evans, bass player of international rock band Power Station had it all. He was rich, travelled the world, played to millions of adoring fans and had no shortage of beautiful women willing to share his bed. He didn’t need a moody redheaded knockout with a superiority complex complicating his life. Or did he?

When two people who couldn’t be more opposite cross paths, it’s bound to be explosive; sometimes all you can do is sit back and enjoy the show.

Book one of the Power Station series.

REVIEWERS NOTE: I received this eARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 Entertaining, Steamy Stars!
Clever and Playful. This One Captured My Attention From the Start and Still Hasn’t Let Go!

The Review:
This is a new author to me and this book was suggested by a friend. She told me it was funny and I’d definitely be impressed by the story. She wasn’t wrong. In fact, after reading the first chapter, I knew I had a rare gem in my hands. I was hooked! I absolutely couldn't put it down. I laughed, I tensed up, I got the swoon-worthy butterflies and when I was done, I had the biggest grin on my face. I loved the characters. I loved the story. And I loved the originality!

Story/Characters...
A broker by right but a bar waitress for now, Ashlyn Murphy lost her dream job when the market crashed and has been waiting on the drunken populace for way too long. As the bills stack higher and her dream seems to be drifting further away, she patiently awaits her second chance to prove to herself that all that college education wasn’t for nothing. Gearing up for an interview to be an assistant to the rock band, Power Station, certainly isn’t her calling but its a step in the right direction... if only she can pass the interview. Little does she know, that day will change everything for her strained and simple life.

Dan Evans, manwhore and partier extraordinaire, is the base player for his band whose popularity has skyrocketed, leaving Dan more than capable to bed any woman he wants... except the one who instantly captured his attention with her biting tongue and unimpressed attitude. Dan’s never met a woman he couldn’t woo out of her overpriced panties but Ashlyn isn’t interested and that only makes Dan determined to win her over. After a very heated introduction, Dan can’t get Ashlyn out of his mind and when he runs into her again unexpectedly, he vows to break past her walls and see what’s hiding behind that sassy personality.

Right from the start, these two light up the pages with their chemistry and even when they are fighting, it’s sexy and entertaining. I was pulled into the story with fun banter, lively dialogue, smart characters and a romantic story that set me alight!

Ashlyn is sarcastic, witty and funny. She’s not impressed with Dan’s status or his fame which only fuels Dan’s interest. Dan was not innocent in the least but his straightforward, dense personality endeared him to me as he was almost innocent in his thinking. These two struggle through their romance with a light bit of angsts, a delightful story that sucked me in from the beginning and kept me smitten until the very end.

The Wrap Up:
Written in duel POV’s, we get to see the battle of two strong-willed people come together to create a smoldering romance with enough emotion, magic and energy from both sides of the story to entice you to read through the night. I enjoyed Dan’s playful character and his charm was sweet and vulnerable. Ashlyn was a fantastic, no-nonsense character who drilled her way into my heart. And the writing! I can’t end this review without commenting on how fantastically entertaining the writing was. Humorous, intelligent, inventive and absorbing, this author wow'd me. I can’t wait to read more Power Station and I’m certainly going to pick up her other works.
