Own the Wind (Chaos #1) by Kristen Ashley Review:

Goodreads Book Blurb:
Too hot to handle...

Tabitha Allen grew up in the thick of Chaos--the Chaos Motorcycle Club, that is. Her father is Chaos' leader, and the club has always had her back. But one rider was different from the start. When Tabby was running wild, Shy Cage was there. When tragedy tore her life apart, he helped her piece it back together. And now, Tabby's thinking about much more than friendship...

Tabby is everything Shy's ever wanted, but everything he thinks he can't have. She's beautiful, smart, and as his friend's daughter, untouchable. Shy never expected more than friendship, so when Tabby indicates she wants more--much more--he feels like the luckiest man alive. But even lucky men can crash and burn...

4 Chaotic Stars!
Fantastic, Hearth-thudding, All Around Awesome Read! KA Does It Again!

The Review:
So, I am totally in awe of Kristen Ashley and think she can do no wrong. Her ability to write an alpha male is off the charts hot. Her ability to write a creative, sometimes goofy, always amazing heroine is one of her greatest gifts. Put these two things together and you have a kickass KA romance novel in a long line of kickass KA novels! Totally LOVE her!

Own the Wind is the first book in KA’s Chaos Series and was a huge hit with me!

Story…
The Chaos MC in this book is much like watching a season of Sons of Anarchy (I love that show!) all rolled into one amazing book! It even gives SOA a shout out which I thought was awesome! The brothers run a successful line of garages and if you read Motorcycle Man from the Dream Man series, then you know Tack, Chaos MC President, was trying to clean up the MC and go legit. This book picks up with Tabby, Tacks daughter and Shy, one of the brothers.
Quote Spotlight…
“I have never, not once, not in my life, made love to any woman. Not once. Not until what I just did with you.” – Shy

Characters…
Shy Cage is a biker with a sorrowful past. He knows the meaning of loss and though his past has been troublesome, he’s honorable and loyal to those he cares about. He joined the Chaos MC young and has devoted his life to his “brothers”. This, along with a blood brother, is his only family. One of the many things he does for his brothers is to keep Tabby, the Chaos’s President’s daughter, out of trouble. He knows of her, has had run-in’s with her and every time he sees her, his heart gives an extra thump… and she’s off limits. But he’s determined to keep her head above water and not let her turn into the trick her mother is. On a Tabby Callout, as the brothers like to call it, he picks her up from a party where she’s in questionable company and he lays into her about how her life is going downhill, making a very strong case when he shows her the life she’s heading towards.

Little did Shy know, Tabby had a crush on him and his words shattered her young heart. She changed, she grew and much later, after years of silence from her, Tabby is thrown back into Shy’s life when tragedy shakes her world.

This starts a very complicated, secret friendship but both have had their eye on one another for a long time and longing like that cannot be denied.
Quote Spotlight…
"I'm alive. You're alive. I gotta work to live so I do that and I'll have to do that for a long time. But when I'm not workin', I'm livin'. So lets ride." – Tabby

I loved watching these two work through their differences. Tabby grew up in the life. She knows all about badass biker dudes and their dominating personalities. But she is like her headstrong father and sometimes headstrong female vs. dominating biker dude, creates explosive fireworks. However…. watching these two make up is totally worth the price of a good fight! Wowza! Shy is alpha male hot! And Tabby is sweet and sexy. A completely awesome combination. But I expected nothing less from a KA book!
Quote Spotlight…
And it hit him.All of it.Waking up to her. Going to bed with her. Making love to her. Eating with her. Laughing with her. Kissing her. Going shopping with her, and when she was in a store and wandering away, he saw her looking over the racks, looking for him, and when he came to her at her back, she’d turned to him, looking lost and leaned into him the second he got there, suddenly found.Jesus, he had it.All of it.

I also loved getting to know the brothers of the Chaos MC. There’s a story brewing in the background of the romance between Shy and Tabby that was a terrific lead-in to book two and will probably carry on throughout the entire series. War is on the horizon for the MC and things could get ugly, quick!

As always, I loved the return of characters from previous books. Tack and Hawk from the Dream Man series and Lee Nightingale from the Rock Chick series were just a couple of familiar faces! I love and always look forward to this part of a KA book. Her world may have many extensions but they always come full circle at some point in each of her books.
Quote Spotlight…
Shy Cage never dreamed a dream.Still, he knew, without a doubt since he was holding one in his arms, dreams were real.

Complaints…
I normally don’t have any complaints when I read a KA book but for whatever reason, this one just didn’t hold the five star rating Im use to giving her books. Shy was awesome sexy, Tabby was sweetly charming, the story was amazing and a great lead in to what I think will be an excellent series, but I think I was expecting the exciting climax towards the end we normally get and it was more emotional rather than the big bang Im used to. Don’t get me wrong… Absolutely LOVED this book, but it just didn’t click with me the way her books normally do.

The Wrap Up:
Am I a fan of KA? Hell Yeah! Am I going to read the next book in this series, Fire Inside? Hell Yeah!
